iKNiX, developed by IFIE GmbH, is a comprehensive iPhone application designed for managing KNX/EIB home automation systems. This application enhances the user experience by allowing seamless control of various functions within your KNX/EIB installation, including lighting, blinds, auxiliary devices, and heating systems (HVAC) using an iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch. Users can also access current status updates and real-time weather information directly through the application.

The iKNiX App operates in conjunction with the KNiX Port, an Ethernet to KNX/EIB gateway that can be obtained online. The configuration process is user-friendly and conducted through the iKNiX website, where users can create a project profile at no cost.

This application enables users to add specific rooms, referred to as ‘zones,’ to their project and generate multiple profiles tailored for different user needs—such as ‘Owner,’ ‘Kids,’ ‘Guest,’ or even for multiple residences. These profiles are easily downloadable via email notification to the iKNiX App, streamlining the management of settings without the need for complex data entry on the mobile device.

The addition of the new KNX-proServ controller enhances system capabilities and is configured using the ETS product database.

New Features:

• Support for low-cost IP extensions alongside KNX-proServ.
• The KNX2SONOS device integrates SONOS® audio systems into KNX commands, allowing control of music zones using KNX wall-mounted switches. Features include play/pause functionality, volume control, and radio station selection, with metadata such as title and artist information relayed back to the system. Configuration remains consistent through ETS software.
